How to deploy Hono to AWS

Deploy a Hono Node.js server on ECS Fargate behind an Application Load Balancer.

Prerequisites

A Git repository containing your application and its production build command.
A Ravion account with your AWS account connected. Start free at Ravion signup.
The Ravion CLI installed and authenticated. See CLI installation.

The examples use my-org/my-app as a placeholder. Replace it with your repository before applying the config.

Set up this Hono app for Ravion ECS hosting.

Configure the deployment

Deploy a Hono application on ECS Fargate behind an Application Load Balancer. Use Hono’s Node adapter and bind the server to the ECS-provided port. This example uses Railpack for the build. Use build_source: dockerfile instead when you need a custom Dockerfile. Use a production script such as node dist/index.js after compiling your TypeScript entry point to dist/index.js.

Hono’s Node server examples use port 3000. Configure @hono/node-server with port: Number(process.env.PORT) || 3000 and bind to 0.0.0.0.

Apply and connect your domain
